Cortijo Los Fernández is one of the most characterful venues in Tonalá — a municipality most people fly past on their way to Guadalajara without stopping to look.

Tonalá has its own identity within the Guadalajara metro area — craftsmanship, small-town architecture, a different rhythm than Zapopan or downtown Guadalajara. Cortijo Los Fernández takes advantage of that with a space that blends the rustic with the functional: gardens, hacienda-style architecture, and an atmosphere that feels authentic.

Mariella and Víctor's wedding — Víctor being "Pocho" Guzmán, a professional soccer player — had the energy of a celebration where the people around the couple have real presence. Weddings like this carry a particular intensity: there are a lot of people who genuinely love the couple, and that translates into moments that happen on their own, with no need to direct anything.

Documenting a wedding like this is exactly the kind of work that interests me most — real people living an important day with genuine joy, in a venue full of personality, in a city that has more to offer than it seems.

If your wedding is at Cortijo Los Fernández or in Tonalá and you're looking for documentary wedding photography in Jalisco, this gallery is a direct reference for how I work in that space.
